Shut-In Ministry

A phone call, a hand-written "thinking of you" note, a birthday card, an Easter lily or Christmas poinsettia, dropping by for a short visit, reading God's word, sharing communion, or just listening and praying...these are but a few of the heart-touching and life-changing ways to live out Matthew 25:37-40:

"Then these righteous ones will reply, 'Lord when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked, and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?' and the King will tell them, 'I assure you, when you did it to the least of these my brothers and sisters,  you were doing it to Me!" (NLT)

Pastor Larry French oversees the Shut-In Ministry, and is assisted by Kay and Elizabeth Lask, who provide leadership, training and coordination of the contacts and visitors who graciously help to keep our shut-in family members connected to Grand Rapids First. We currently have around 50 people on our shut-in list. If you are able to assist in making phone calls, writing cards, or making personal visits, please contact Kay and Elizabeth Lask, Sue Sauer, or Pastor Larry French to get involoved in this rewarding and vital ministry.

"With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage those who have weak knees." (Isaiah 35:5, NLT)
