Deaf Ministry

Our Deaf Ministry provides an opportunity for Deaf to come together to encourage one another, share experiences, to grow spiritually and to cultivate friendships. Interpretation for the deaf is available at Sunday and Wednesday services near the front center-right section.

The Deaf ministry at GR First is made up of Deaf and Hearing working towards one goal, to develop a relationship with Jesus and each  other.  We do have the following opportunities at GRFirst:

1.} Sundays 10 a.m.- Sunday school class for the Deaf
2.} 11a.m. service is interpreted for the Deaf
3.} Once a month we have a Sunday afternoon Deaf/Hearing fellowship
4.} American Sign Language class, taught by one of Deaf members, so the Hearing can become connected to the Deaf community.

We do other things together on Tuesdays and other times, but these activities are “outside” activities.  For example, we go to Rivertown mall on Tuesday nights to fellowship with groups of Deaf that gather there.  We also do games and activities each year at the big Deaf picnic in June at Johnson Park.
